Legal Externship Program

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP Externship Program: Build Up Justice NYC partners with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP to host associates from the firm for a 4-5 month full-time externship rotation in our Community & Economic Development Program serving small businesses, nonprofits and community organizations. The extern works on a variety of transactional client matters. Legal Fellowships

Build Up Justice NYC has an extensive track record of successfully sponsoring applicants for the most competitive legal fellowships, including Skadden Fellowship Foundation, The Arthur Liman Public Interest Fellowship Program and Equal Justice Works fellowships. Fellowships at Build Up Justice NYC offer a rewarding, challenging and meaningful experience helping those who are most in need.

Selections for the fellowships are made by the programs and not by Build Up Justice NYC.

We encourage interested candidates to consult with us regarding suggestions for viable proposals. We also encourage interested candidates with diverse cultural backgrounds and/or proficiency in languages other than English to contact us. Considering the time needed to develop projects acceptable to Build Up Justice NYC and the applicants, interested persons should contact Build Up Justice NYC as soon as possible.

  • Cover Letter addressing their interest and experience in public interest law and describing any ideas for a fellowship proposal (it is not necessary to have a proposal at the application stage)
