In real life

Dear friends,

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Brooklyn A expanded its virtual education efforts. But the fact remains that access to internet and a computer is limited for many individuals and families throughout New York City. We must acknowledge that there is a gap between those who can get online and those who can’t.

In addition to hosting a series of virtual town halls to educate renters, homeowners, small business owners, and taxpayers on their rights and available resources during the pandemic, we have also begun to meet our client communities at in-person events. Following all COVID-19 protocols and requirements, Brooklyn A will continue to complement and boost our outreach and educational efforts with in-person events in partnership with community-based organizations.

In August, our staff took part in two in-person events outside of our Bed-Stuy office and at a Fort Greene Community Fridge block party.

Tomorrow, Tamara del Carmen, Director of our Consumer and Economic Advocacy Program, will join the Back 2 School Community Fair event alongside Oneness Pentecostal Tabernacle and other community partners.

We hope you enjoy some of the photos from our recent events. Visit us on social media to stay up to date on our work!

If you or someone you know would like to request the assistance of our services, contact us at [email protected] or (718) 487-2300. For a list of our legal services for renters, homeowners, small businesses, taxpayers, and non-profits, visit www.bit.ly/bkakit.

Thank you,

The Brooklyn A Team
