Advancing Nonprofit Success and Community Strength

Nonprofits & Community Organizations

Build Up Justice NYC‘s Community Economic Development (CED) Program provides legal support to community groups and nonprofits to help them start, grow, stay compliant, and achieve their goals.

Our expert attorneys provide both short-term legal advice and ongoing representation, offering a full range of transactional services including corporate formation, contract drafting and negotiation, employment matters, commercial leases, regulatory issues, and real estate transactions.

We focus on serving community groups and nonprofits that support low-income people, people of color, marginalized communities, and those promoting racial and economic justice.

We also work closely with grassroots activists developing projects to improve their neighborhoods, city, and beyond. Our priority is supporting those building power through movements for racial, social, and economic justice.

Additionally, the CED Program represents worker-owned cooperatives and solidarity economy projects that serve or are led by low-income people, people of color, and marginalized communities.

For free evaluation, advice, and counsel, please email [email protected] and include your full name, contact information, and a brief description of your situation and an advocate will follow-up promptly.

Justice grows stronger when we build it together.
