Advancing Housing Justice

Renters

The Preserving Affordable Housing (PAH) program works to keep New Yorkers housed by using legal and advocacy strategies to prevent evictions, combat tenant harassment and discrimination, improve housing conditions, and promote access to safe, stable, and affordable housing.

Serving tenants in Brooklyn and Queens, the PAH program is part of Build Up Justice NYC’s  longstanding commitment to fighting the displacement of low-income New Yorkers.

Our skilled, dedicated team of advocates represents tenants in housing court and holds unscrupulous landlords accountable for harassment, neglect, and unsafe living conditions. In addition to individual representation in court, we help tenants organize tenant associations that can effectively advocate for safe, sanitary, and dignified housing.

For free evaluation, advice, and counsel, please call our office at (718) 487-2300, during regular business hours Monday – Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. We can also be reached by email at [email protected]. Please include your full name, contact information, and a brief description of your situation and an advocate will follow up with you promptly.

Justice grows stronger when we build it together.
