Small Businesses
Our Community Economic Development (CED) Program helps small businesses navigate commercial lease challenges and other legal hurdles, working to preserve their stability and strengthening the economic foundation of New York City’s diverse communities.
Small businesses drive New York City’s economy, and we’re here to help them thrive. Our expert team helps small businesses by providing a range of transactional services designed to help both long-standing institutions and new ventures succeed.
We dedicate a significant portion of our services to assisting small businesses with commercial lease issues, including:
- Negotiating a new or renewal lease
- Reviewing the terms of a current lease
- Negotiating a lease termination or assignment
- Negotiating a sublet agreement
- Enforcing the terms of a lease, sublease, or oral agreement with a landlord
- Combating landlord harassment and other breaches of commercial lease obligations
Please note that we do not represent small businesses in eviction proceedings or other litigation related to their commercial leases.
