Spotlighting Jim Meadows from LITC

This week, the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic office of the IRS spotlighted the work of our very own Jim Meadows!

Jim joined Build Up Justice NYC as a pro bono volunteer following a decades-long career across various law firms. Just before his current role, he co-founded Culhane Meadows PLLC – serving as managing partner and CFO – which at the time of his departure was the largest national full-service women-owned (WBE) law firm in the country.

Today, Jim is bringing that same level of elite strategic leadership to the low-income taxpayer clinic at BUJNYC, where he has already made an enormous impact on the vulnerable New Yorkers he serves. Jim provides pro bono assistance to low-income taxpayers locked in disputes with the IRS, while also helping them prepare accurate tax returns to put an end to their financial controversies. Furthermore, Jim contributes to the growth and culture of the organization by presenting at community educational events and acting as a trusted mentor to developing team members, helping to foster the next generation of legal advocates.

The LITC Program Office commends Jim for his commitment to providing pro-bono assistance and tax-related education to low-income taxpayers and their families.

Justice grows stronger when we build it together.
