Matthew Costello

Prior to joining Build Up Justice NYC, Matthew provided free legal services to low-income clients in housing, public defense, and disability advocacy cases. Prior to law school, he worked as an organizer in low-income communities passing progressive legislation. He holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. from SUNY Purchase. Matthew is a former housing court defendant that successfully countersued his landlord and his favorite place in NYC is Tompkins Square Park, where he has filmed several documentaries on punk culture and artists.
